HIT
Hydraulic Impedance Testing (HIT) is a fracture diagnostic technology which can determine if a fracture is present in a well and also determine the location of the fracture. It is a completely non-invasive method, using only surface equipment to perform downhole fracture measurements.
Pinnacle employs HIT predominantly to detect the presence and location of fracture(s) in injection wells. HIT can also provide an accurate measurement of formation closure stress (minimum in-situ stress) to assist hydraulic fracture engineering and to monitor water injection wells.
HIT can provide answers to these questions without putting any tools into the well and without spending a lot of money, compared to other downhole measurement technologies.
